Skylight is committed to protecting information that you provide us. Skylight is also committed to highlighting your rights to access your personal information and making you aware of how we protect your personal information. Skylight collects personal information from people accessing and seeking to access Skylight services.
The purpose for which Skylight collects this information is to achieve its Mission to increase opportunities to achieve good mental health, to promote acceptance of mental illness in the community and provide quality services for people with mental illness, their family and friends. Skylight does not collect your personal information for any other reason unless we have your consent to do so. Skylight will not disclose your personal information to any other person or agency outside of Skylight unless we have your consent or we required by law.
Skylight is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) which contains 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPs regulate how organisations collect, use, disclose and secure personal information, and provide individuals with a right to access and correct their information. In accordance with the APPs, Skylight has a Confidentiality and Documents and Records Policy which sets out how your personal information is protected.
