12 hour Older Persons Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid for assisting older people aged 65+
Wednesday 10th & 17th October, 9:00am – 5:00pm with allowance for breaks
This course is designed for members of the public to learn how to assist an older person (65 years +) who is developing a mental health problem, has a worsening of an existing mental health problem, or is in a mental health crisis. This includes an older person who may be experiencing confusion or dementia.
This course is ideal for Aged Care Community Workers, Carers of an Older Person, or those working or living with older people.
Mental Health First Aid Refresher courses are 4-hour face-to-face courses that allow people who have previously completed a 12 or 14-hour Mental Health First Aid course to refresh their knowledge and skills. For people who are Accredited MHFAiders, the refresher courses offer an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.
14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Course
Monday November 12th & 19th, 9:00am – 5:00pm with allowance for breaks.
This course teaches adult members of the public how to provide initial help to adolescents experiencing mental health problems, in a mental health crisis situation,or in the early stages of a mental illness. This course is ideal for parents, teachers, student counsellors, sports coaches or for anyone working or living with young people.
12 hour Standard Mental Health First Aid Course
Wednesday 5th & 12th December, 9:00am – 5:00pm with allowance for breaks.
This course is for adult members of the public to assist someone who is developing a mental health problem, has a worsening of an existing mental health problem or is in a mental health crisis.
